What Is a Direct Win Prediction?

A direct win prediction is a pick for one team to win the match outright, either the home team (1) or the away team (2). There is no cover for a draw, so if the match ends level the bet loses. This page lists only today's matches where our 1X2 pick is a home win or an away win. Matches where our pick is a draw appear on the main 1X2 predictions page instead.

How to read this page

Odds. The 1, X and 2 boxes show bookmaker odds for a home win, a draw and an away win. A lower number means the bookmaker rates that result as more likely.

Prediction. This shows 1 (home win) or 2 (away win), with a confidence percentage and bar. A higher percentage means a stronger lean, not a certain result.

Goals and Score. The goals tip shows Ov2.5 when the average goals in the teams' matches is above 2.6, and Un2.5 when it is lower. After full time, the final score appears with a tick if the pick was right and a cross if it was wrong.

Direct win or Double Chance?

A Double Chance bet covers two of the three results, such as home win or draw. It wins more often but pays lower odds. A direct win pays higher odds but loses on a draw. If you are unsure about a match, Double Chance is the safer choice. If you want a higher return and accept the draw risk, use a direct win. Our football glossary explains these terms in more detail.

A note on accumulators

Many people combine direct win picks into accumulators. Each extra match you add multiplies the odds, but it also multiplies the chance that one pick fails and loses the whole bet. Keep accumulators short, and never stake more than you can afford to lose.
