How to Read Today's Football Predictions

AmazingStakes lists the day's football matches by league and puts the numbers you need next to each game: bookmaker odds, our pick, a confidence score and the final result. This page explains what each column means so you can judge a tip for yourself instead of just following it.

What each column means

1 X 2 (odds). These are bookmaker odds for a home win (1), a draw (X) and an away win (2). Lower odds mean the bookmaker thinks that result is more likely.

Prediction. This is our 1X2 pick for the match, shown with a confidence percentage and bar. A higher percentage means a stronger lean, not a guaranteed result.

Goals. The goals tip shows Ov2.5 when the average number of goals in the teams' matches is above 2.6, and Un2.5 when it is lower. It is a simple guide to how open a game might be.

Score. When a match finishes, the final score appears with a tick if the 1X2 pick was right and a cross if it was wrong. Wrong picks stay visible.

The percentages on the Popular Matches cards are worked out from the odds (1 divided by the odds). Because bookmakers build a margin into their prices, the three figures add up to slightly more than 100%.

Markets you can browse

Besides the main 1X2 view, you can switch to Double Chance (two of the three results covered), Both Teams To Score, Over/Under 1.5 and Over/Under 2.5 goals, Half-Time/Full-Time and Correct Score. Correct Score is the hardest market to get right, because only one exact scoreline wins. If a term is new to you, the football glossary explains it in plain language.

What predictions can and cannot do

Football results are hard to predict. Upsets, red cards, injuries and lineup changes happen every week. Nobody can promise winning tips, and any site that does is not being honest. Treat our picks as one input among several, check team news before kick-off, and never stake money you cannot afford to lose.

What does BTTS mean?

BTTS stands for Both Teams To Score. A "Yes" pick means each side is expected to score at least one goal. See the BTTS predictions page.

What is the difference between 1X2 and Double Chance?

1X2 means you pick one result: home win, draw or away win. Double Chance covers two of those three results, so the odds are lower but you win more often.
