Bet Numbers Explained

Some bookmakers give every match a short number, often called a bet number or game ID, that you can type into their app to find the match fast. Here is how that works, and where to find our free football predictions.

What Is a Bet Number?

A bet number, sometimes called a game ID or match code, is a short number that some bookmakers give to each match on their site or app. Instead of searching for the team names, you type the number and the match appears. The number belongs to the bookmaker. Different bookmakers use different numbers for the same match, and a number can change or stop working after the match is over.

How to find a match on your betting app

  1. Open the match page on our site and note the two team names, the league and the kick-off time.
  2. Open your bookmaker's app and use its search to look for one of the team names.
  3. Check that the league and kick-off time match the fixture you meant. Teams with common names can appear in several competitions.
  4. If your bookmaker shows a game ID for the match, you can use that number to find it again later. It is only valid on that bookmaker.
  5. Check the odds on your bookmaker before you place a bet. The odds on our pages are for information only and can differ.

About "sure win" bet numbers

Some sites sell or share lists of bet numbers called "sure wins". There are none. No one can know a football result in advance, and a list of numbers does not make a bet safer. Be careful with anyone who asks you to pay for numbers or promises guaranteed results. Our picks come with a confidence score so you can see how strong each lean is, but even a high score can lose.
